NAILSEA ACTION GROUP
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
7.30 p.m. on Wednesday 20th May 2026
The Grove Sports and Social Club, St Mary’s Grove, Nailsea, BS48 4NQ
N.A.G.’s aim is to promote and protect Nailsea’s rural setting and open green spaces for the benefit of the whole community.
The theme of the meeting this year is The importance of green open space in Nailsea and Backwell with particular reference to the proposed developments in Nailsea to add to those already placed in very recent years, and in Backwell because they will impact significantly on Nailsea, such as the Grove Farm development proposal, and the new road leading from the A370 east of Backwell northwards then westwards to join Station Road just north of the Nailsea and Backwell Railway Station road bridge.
Of particular concern at the moment is the newly proposed development of 130 Houses on land adjacent to Poplar Farm, West End Lane, Nailsea, and the very large estate to the north of Southfield Road in Nailsea. There will be updates and discussion too on other areas of interest.
N.A.G. is delighted to welcome to this meeting as its guest speaker, Pat Gilbert, an active and effective environmentalist, much to whose credit can be laid the success of the establishment of Trendlewood Park in its present form, though she would quickly claim that she has just been one among many. She will speak to the meeting’s theme which will lead to opportunities for question and discussion.
