Outline Application
McTaggart Mickel’s original application to build 450 dwellings on this land (see North Somerset Council planning, application reference 16/P/1677/OT2) was made on 7 November 2016 and the site was added to the Sites Allocation Plan albeit for a smaller number 175 dwellings (see NAG website page Sites and Policies consultation).
The application was subject to an appeal against North Somerset Council for non-determination which has ruled that planning permission be granted for the full 450 dwellings. For more details, see the inspector’s report.
Building
For the first phase of 200 houses this is well under way with a number occupied by residents, although sales are reported to be slower than expected (Autumn 2023). A new roadway through the site superseding the current parallel stretch of Netherton Wood Lane which will remain open for access only, will be open on completion of this phase.
